Kinboard

Features

Everything Kinboard does

48 features, all on iPhone. Most are free; the few marked PRO come with the one-off Pro purchase.

The family diary

One diary for the whole family, the same on every phone.

Shared family diary
Everyone you invite sees the same diary, and changes appear on the other phones within a minute.
Today
What's on today and tomorrow, the weather, and anything new the family has added.
Colour for each person
Each child and grown-up has a colour and a photo or emoji, so you can see whose day it is at a glance.
Repeating entries
Weekly clubs and term-time lessons. Change one date, that date and the ones after, or all of them.
New from the family
When someone else adds, moves or cancels something, it shows on Today with a badge.
Private entries
Switch on "Only on my iPhone" for anything that shouldn't be shared, like a surprise or your own appointment.
Undo and Recently deleted
Every delete can be undone, and anything removed stays for 30 days, even if it was removed on another phone.
Bank holidays and weather
Bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, and a forecast on Today.
Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show what's next, with the date on every entry.
Full page screenshots
Take a screenshot and Kinboard offers the whole fortnight as one page to send.
PDF summaryPRO
Print the next weeks for the fridge, or send them to a grandparent or childminder.
Copy to iPhone CalendarPRO
Put everything in the iPhone's own Calendar as well, if that's where you look.

You check before saving
Every date found is shown first, with who it's for and what to bring. Untick or fix anything before it's added.
UK school words
Understands INSET days, half term, non-uniform days, year groups and dates written the British way.

School and clubs

Built for UK schools and the clubs around them.

Each child, and the grown-ups

The details you're always asked for, in one place.

Profiles with photos
A photo or emoji for each person, their school, class and teacher.
Sizes
Shoe size, clothes size, height and weight, so presents and school uniform fit.
Health details

NHS search
Find GP surgeries, dentists and opticians from the NHS list and save their numbers.
Check-ups
When each child last saw the dentist, optician or GP, so nothing slips.
Vitamins and medicines
Daily doses with a reminder and a tick when they're given.
Emergency info
One tap shares a child's key details with a babysitter or another parent.
Pets
Vets, vaccinations, insurance and microchip numbers for the four-legged family too.

Chores and pocket money

For families that want them. Hide the tab if you don't.

Chores
Daily or weekly jobs for each child, ticked off as they're done.
Points and goals
Points for chores add up towards something they're saving for.
Pocket money
A running tally of what's owed and what's paid.
Your choice
Turn the Chores tab off in Settings and it's gone.

Reminders

The nudge at the right time, not a stream of them.

Reminders
On any entry, as early as you like.
Morning and evening summaries
What's on today at breakfast, and what to get ready for tomorrow after tea.
Alerts list
Every reminder Kinboard has sent, in case one was swiped away.
Private notifications
Hide the details on the Lock Screen, so medicines and appointments aren't on show.

Family, privacy and safety

Sharing that's easy to set up and hard to get wrong.

Invite codes
Send an 8 character code. Each code works once, so a forwarded message can't let anyone else in.
Sign in without a password
A code is emailed to you. There's no password to forget or leak.
No account needed
Use Kinboard on one iPhone with no account at all. Sign in later, only if you want to share.
Face ID lock
Ask for Face ID or the passcode each time Kinboard opens. It's also hidden in the app switcher.
Backup and restore
Save everything to one file whenever you like, and bring it back on a new phone.
Delete your account
From Settings, in a couple of taps. Your family's shared data goes with the last grown-up to leave.

Kinboard works on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Some reading features work best on newer iPhones.
